Net Purpose:

The Central Virginia 6 Meter SSB Net was founded on traditional standards of Amateur Radio procedures and ethics. Its purpose is to promote Amateur Radio, on-air fellowship and, in particular, six meter single sideband operation. The net was conceived and initiated in 2006 by a small group of motivated Amateurs in the Richmond area as a directed net where on each day of the week a different station would act as net control.

It is the intent of the founders to give as many operators as possible the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence required to serve as net control operators. Finally, the circle of like-minded Amateurs that find the six meter band and SSB operation challenging and fulfilling will grow into a fellowship dedicated to the art of VHF communications and the perpetuation of the Amateur Radio hobby.

Spring Tailgate Fest

WHAT: the spring Tailgate Fest

WHERE: The Scottish Rite Temple parking lot
4204 Hermitage Rd. Richmond, VA - MAP

WHEN: April 28, 2012   8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Lets get the word out to all the hams around Central Virginia there have been a lot of inquiries about when the next one will be. Please let your club members know and the folks you talk to on the air. We have up to 50 spaces available for selling your wares to come early. You will need to bring your own tables and chairs to display your wares.

We are responsible for cleaning the area when we're done and we are asked to not cause a nuisance for the neighbors so lets be kind to them and our host, The Scottish Rite Temple. We owe a debt to Ralph Spring, K4OWL for arranging for us to use the space.

Thanks, Gene - W4YSP
